CT is also used to guide certain interventional procedures, such as nerve root, facet joint and epidural injections.

Please tell our team if you are or may be pregnant, or if you have kidney disease, diabetes, thyroid conditions, allergies, or take Metformin or blood thinners.
FAQs
Do I need an appointment?
Yes. All CT Scans require an appointment. Simply call our clinic or send through your referral via our appointment request form, and our friendly Booking Team will arrange a convenient appointment and provide any preparation instructions you may need before your visit.
What happens during a CT scan?
During your CT scan, you’ll lie comfortably on a table that moves slowly through the scanner while detailed images are taken. Your radiographer will guide you throughout the examination, including giving simple breathing instructions if needed, and will remain in contact with you at all times. Most CT scans are quick and are completed within just a few minutes.
Will I need contrast?
Some CT examinations require a contrast medium to provide clearer images of certain organs, blood vessels, or tissues. This may be given as an injection, a drink, or occasionally both, depending on the type of scan. If contrast is required, you may experience a brief warm sensation or metallic taste, which is completely normal and passes quickly.
What happens after my CT scan?
If you’ve received contrast via an injection, we may ask you to remain in the clinic for a short period as a precaution. In most cases, you can return to your normal daily activities immediately after your examination unless advised otherwise by our team.
Are there any costs?
Most Medicare-eligible CT examinations are bulk billed. If your scan incurs an out-of-pocket cost, our Booking Team will discuss this with you before your appointment so there are no unexpected surprises..
When will my results be ready?
Your images will be reviewed by one of our Specialist Radiologists, and a report is typically sent to your referring healthcare provider within 24 to 48 hours. If your examination is clinically urgent, it will be prioritised to ensure your doctor receives the results as soon as possible.
