Do I need an appointment?
Most dental imaging examinations, including OPG and lateral cephalogram X-Rays, do not require an appointment. Simply visit one of our clinics during opening hours with your referral, and our friendly team will be happy to assist you.
What happens during my dental imaging scan?
Your radiographer will explain the procedure and position you comfortably for the examination. For an OPG or lateral cephalogram, you’ll be asked to stand still and gently bite on a sterile mouthpiece while the scanner moves around your head. The examination is quick, painless, and usually completed within just a few minutes.
Are there any costs?
Most Medicare-eligible dental imaging examinations are bulk billed. If your examination incurs an out-of-pocket expense, our Booking Team will advise you before your scan.
When will my results be ready?
Your images will be reviewed by one of our Specialist Radiologists, and a report is typically sent to your referring healthcare provider within 24 to 48 hours. If your examination is clinically urgent, it will be prioritised to ensure your doctor receives the results as soon as possible..
