Preparing for your X-Ray
- Remove jewellery and metallic items from the area being imaged
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing – you may be asked to change into a gown
- Bring your referral and Medicare or DVA card
FAQs
Do I need an appointment?
Most X-Ray examinations do not require an appointment. Simply visit one of our clinics during opening hours with your referral, and our friendly team will assist you. Some specialised X-Ray examinations may require an appointment, so if you’re unsure, please contact us before your visit.
What happens during the X-Ray?
Your radiographer will explain the procedure, position you for the examination, and take the required images. Each X-Ray only takes a few moments, and most appointments are completed quickly, allowing you to return to your day with minimal disruption.
Are there any costs?
Most Medicare-eligible X-Ray examinations are bulk billed. If your examination incurs an out-of-pocket expense, our Booking Team will let you know before your appointment or when you arrive at the clinic.
When will my results be ready?
Your X-Rays will be reviewed by one of our Specialist Radiologists, and a report is typically sent to your referring healthcare provider within 24 to 48 hours. If your examination is clinically urgent, it will be prioritised to ensure your doctor receives the results as soon as possible.
